A dynamic opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support K-12 students in a public school district located approximately 45 minutes south of Washington, DC. This full-time contract position runs from January 5, 2026, through May 29, 2026, with a flexible option for part-time candidates able to commit at least 20 hours per week. The role will provide essential coverage for an existing Speech-Language Pathologist and offers a valuable chance to gain experience in a school environment where SLPAs have not been utilized before.
Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in delivering therapy services to students from kindergarten through 12th grade
- Participate in individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a certified SLP
- Support communication development and intervention activities tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with school staff and families to promote student progress
- Maintain accurate records and documentation consistent with school policies
Qualifications and Experience:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication Disorders or related field
- Registration with the state Speech Board under the supervision of a licensed SLP (Virginia state registration required)
- Strong interest in working within an educational setting
- Ability to work full-time Monday through Friday, with consideration of part-time availability of minimum 20 hours per week
- Previous experience in speech-language pathology assistance preferred but not required
