A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the 2026/2027 school year in Thermal, CA, within the Coachella Valley Unified School District area. This onsite role involves working primarily with PreK students, including those with mild to moderate needs and some severe needs, some of whom use AAC devices. Bilingual Spanish skills are strongly preferred, reflecting the community’s language needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language therapy services to PreK students
- Support mild to moderate and some severe needs, including use of AAC devices
- Potentially serve as an itinerant SLPA, traveling between multiple sites within the district
- Collaborate with school staff to support individualized student goals
- Maintain documentation and assist with compliance requirements
Qualifications and Experience:
- Prior experience in school-based settings preferred
- Certificate of Clearance (COC) required for employment
- Ability and willingness to work onsite, with priority given to onsite candidates; open to travel candidates
- Strong communication skills, with bilingual Spanish proficiency highly desirable
