A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed to support students in an elementary school setting in Terryville, CT. There are two leave contract openings available, both requiring onsite presence and offering the opportunity to work across early childhood and elementary grade levels.
The first opening runs from January 9 through April 2, focusing on PreK through 2nd grade students. While there is a potential candidate for this position, the role is still open and ready for the right professional to step in and provide effective speech and language support.
The second opening is from February 9 to March 23, with responsibilities split between the upper elementary grades (3rd-5th) and the middle school building. This role requires flexibility to serve students across different grade levels, ensuring continuity of support in speech and language development.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the Speech-Language Pathologist in delivering direct speech and language therapy to students.
- Implement individualized treatment plans and document student progress.
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff to support student communication needs.
- Maintain confidentiality and comply with applicable school and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Hold current SLPA certification or eligibility.
- Experience working with elementary-aged students in a school setting preferred.
- Ability to work onsite full time during contract periods.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
