Speech Pathology Assistant - Fredericksburg, VA
An opportunity is available for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support K-12 students within a dynamic school district located approximately 45 minutes south of Washington, DC. This full-time contract role runs from early January through late May, with flexible part-time options for candidates able to commit at least 20 hours per week.
Location:
Fredericksburg, VA area, serving multiple schools as needed.
Schedule:
37.5 hours per week, Monday through Friday.
Role Overview:
This position involves providing speech-language support under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP). The district has not previously utilized SLPAs, so deployment may be adaptable to meet student needs. This assignment fills a vacancy left by a former SLP staff member.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Must hold an Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication Disorders.
- Registration with the Speech Board under the supervision of an SLP is required, as Virginia does not license SLPAs.
- No prior school district SLPA experience necessary, but experience levels influence compensation.
- Clear communication skills and ability to manage caseloads within a school setting.
Compensation:
Competitive hourly rates aligned with experience, ranging from $32 to $44 per hour.
