A school-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available in a public elementary school located in Southeast Houston, near Hobby Airport, Texas. This contract role requires a dedicated, licensed SLPA with TDLR certification already obtained, as there is no supervision provided to obtain licensure on-site. The appointment is full-time (37.5 hours per week), from April 20 through June 4, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language support and intervention to students within the school setting
- Collaborate with licensed speech-language pathologists and educational staff to implement individualized education plan (IEP) goals
- Assist in assessing and documenting students’ speech and language progress
- Maintain accurate records and communicate effectively with staff and families
- Adhere to school policies and district protocols related to student services and confidentiality
Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Current Speech-Language Pathology Assistant licensure from the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR)
- Prior experience working in a school environment preferred
- Familiarity with speech therapy techniques and age-appropriate intervention strategies
- Reliable transportation and ability to commute to Southeast Houston confidently
- Availability for fingerprinting and district-required clearances promptly after hire
