What You Should Know About Travel Assignments
A travel assignment is a full-time role in a school district located at least 50 miles away from your tax home. Travel SLPAs are compensated with hourly pay plus 50% non-taxed stipends to support housing and daily expenses. Each contract lasts through the school year, with renewal and relocation options at completion.
Responsibilities

Conduct therapy sessions under SLP supervision

Track progress and contribute to IEP documentation

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and staff to support communication goals

Maintain a positive, student-centered approach
Requirements

Valid SLPA license in the state of assignment

Previous experience working with children preferred

Willingness to travel 50+ miles from home

Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
