School Speech Pathologist Assistant | Santa Rosa, California
A K-12 educational setting in Santa Rosa, CA is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide support for early childhood students. This contract position begins ASAP and extends through the winter break, with the possibility of extension if the current leave continues. The role offers 20-30 hours per week working primarily with a caseload of TK through 2nd grade students.
In this position, the SLPA will work onsite alongside a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), providing direct group therapy sessions while the SLP focuses on assessments, report writing, and other clinical duties. This arrangement allows for valuable mentorship and supervision from a seasoned SLP, helping the SLPA grow professionally within a supportive school environment.
Key responsibilities include:
- Conducting group speech and language therapy sessions for early childhood students (TK-2)
- Collaborating with the onsite SLP to follow treatment plans and communicate student progress
- Maintaining accurate documentation and data collection related to therapy sessions
- Supporting students' communication development in alignment with educational goals
Desired qualifications and experience:
- Current SLPA certification and compliance with state requirements
- Experience working with young children, ideally in a school setting
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently while under supervision of an SLP
