School Speech Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) - Santa Maria, California
A full-time School-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available starting immediately through the end of the school year, serving an elementary caseload in Santa Maria, CA. This contract role offers the opportunity to work primarily within two separate elementary schools, with a schedule designed to minimize daily travel between sites — typically spending three days at one school and two days at the other each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist to elementary-aged students.
- Assist in implementing individualized education program (IEP) goals for students with speech and language needs.
- Conduct screening, document progress, and maintain clear communication with supervising therapists and school staff.
- Support classroom teachers by incorporating speech and language goals into the educational environment.
- Promote positive, patient-centered care while adapting therapy approaches to meet diverse student needs.
Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA credential or certification.
- Experience working with elementary school children in a speech-language pathology role.
- Ability to work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary school team.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Commitment to timely and effective communication.
Location and Schedule:
- Work based in Santa Maria, CA.
- Split schedule between two separate elementary school sites; no daily travel between both.
- Approximately three days per week at one location and two days at the other.
- Full-time, contract position from ASAP through the end of the school year.
