School-Based Speech Therapist Assistant - Pacoima, California
A School-Based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available for the 2026-2027 academic year in Pacoima, CA. This contract role supports Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) by assisting with their caseloads, which typically include around 45 students. SLPAs do not carry independent caseloads but play a key role in facilitating speech and language therapy services within the school setting.
This position requires flexibility, as site assignments may change based on district needs. The schedule is 30 hours per week, with specific assignments outlined for one position: Monday through Wednesday at Valencia High and Thursday and Friday at Castaic High’s ATP Program. Additional positions will have locations to be determined.
Key Qualifications/Desired Experience:
- Experience or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a school environment
- Ability to assist SLPs effectively and work with students across diverse needs
- Flexibility to adapt to changing site assignments as directed
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for collaborating with students, staff, and clinicians
Responsibilities:
- Support SLPs in delivering speech and language therapy services to students
- Assist with scheduling, documentation, and therapy preparation as needed
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records under SLP supervision
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to student success plans
