A K-12 educational setting in Long Beach, CA is seeking a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support student communication development throughout the current school year on a contract basis. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to diverse academic environments by collaborating with speech-language pathologists and instructional teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized educational programs for students with speech and language challenges
- Provide direct support to students during therapy sessions, following established treatment plans
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with school policies
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and specialists to support student communication needs
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to continuous improvement of communication services
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant certification or equivalent credential
- Experience working in K-12 school settings is highly preferred
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with students, staff, and families
- Ability to follow therapeutic plans accurately and demonstrate flexibility adapting to student needs
- Knowledge of applicable education regulations and confidentiality requirements
