Speech Language Pathologist Assistant in Portland, TX
Embark on a rewarding opportunity to support students and staff along the beautiful Southeast Texas coast! A contract assignment is available for motivated and collaborative Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) to provide essential services during the initial six weeks of the school year. This position offers a full-time weekly schedule of 35 hours, working closely with a local district to cover SLPA needs while permanent staff complete their licensure observation hours.
This is an in-person position for SLPAs licensed in Texas. Applicants must be proactive, adaptable, and eager to make a difference in a dynamic educational environment. Details regarding specific schools and case assignments will follow after an upcoming planning meeting, but you can anticipate working with a range of student age groups.
Key Qualifications:
- Active Texas SLPA license required
- Experience in school settings strongly preferred
- Ability to complete Texas fingerprinting and credentialing requirements rapidly if not already registered
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Adaptability and teamwork mindset
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver direct and indirect speech-language services to students under the supervision of a licensed SLP
- Document session notes and progress according to departmental standards
- Collaborate with campus staff and participating SLPs as needed
- Assist in developing and implementing treatment plans for a diverse student caseload
- Support students across assigned campus locations (exact assignments TBD)
