SLPAs do not carry individual caseloads but play an essential role in helping SLPs deliver effective speech and language services.
The contract runs from August 12, 2026, through June 4, 2027, with a work schedule of 30 hours per week. Flexibility is key, as school site assignments may change based on district needs. Currently, one position is available with the following schedule: Monday to Wednesday at Valencia High School and Thursday to Friday at the ATP Program at Castaic High School. Additional positions may be assigned TBD.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist Speech-Language Pathologists in providing speech and language therapy to students.
- Support documentation and preparation related to therapy sessions.
- Help maintain organized records of student progress under the supervision of SLPs.
- Adapt to changing school site assignments as dictated by district priorities.
- Collaborate effectively with SLPs, educators, and school staff to support student communication goals.
Qualifications:
- Current certification or licensure as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
- Experience working within school environments preferred.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Flexibility to adjust to changing schedules and sites.
