Speech Therapy Assistant - Chico, CA
A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available to provide support across multiple elementary schools in the Oroville, CA area. This role involves itinerant coverage between Spring Valley School, Bangor Elementary School, and Berry Creek Elementary School, serving approximately 35 general education inclusion students. The ideal candidate should be skilled in supporting speech and language services within a school setting and comfortable managing a caseload involving varied student needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language support services to students under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Collaborate with educational staff to implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and support inclusive classroom settings.
- Manage scheduling and coordinate services across multiple schools, requiring reliable transportation and readiness to travel between sites.
- Utilize SEIS (Special Education Information System) for documentation and case management of student progress.
- Maintain compliance with school district policies and confidentiality standards.
Qualifications:
- Valid California Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) license.
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children, preferably in general education and special education settings.
- Familiarity with SEIS and IEP implementation.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently while managing travel between multiple locations.
Location: Oroville, CA – onsite coverage at multiple elementary schools within the district.
Duration: Contract position through June 5, 2026.
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
