School-Based Speech Therapist Assistant - Oceanside, California
This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work as a Speech-Language Pathologist Assistant (SLPA) within a dynamic K-12 school environment focused on supporting students with diverse needs. The assignment is split between two schools, providing a rich and varied caseload, ideal for someone passionate about working with children across different age groups and learning challenges.
Location: Oceanside, CA
Assignment Duration: ASAP start through June 5, 2026
Schedule: 32.5 hours per week, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch break
Responsibilities:
- Provide speech therapy assistance to students with moderate to severe autism, as well as those served in Resource Specialist Programs (RSP) and Special Day Classes (SDC).
- Collaborate closely with experienced Speech-Language Pathologists at both sites to implement individualized therapy plans.
- Support various communication needs to enhance students’ academic and social development.
- Maintain detailed documentation of student progress and therapy activities.
Desired Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in schools, especially with students on the autism spectrum and in RSP/SDC settings.
- Ability to follow treatment plans developed by licensed Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills to work effectively with school staff and families.
- Flexibility and adaptability to work across two different school locations.
