Support K-5 students in a dynamic educational setting as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) in a full-time, onsite role serving multiple schools. This contract position provides an excellent opportunity to work within a K-12 environment, supporting speech and language development for elementary-aged children.
Location: Mobile, AL
Duration: ASAP through May 22, 2026
Schedule: Full-Time (35 hours per week)
Assignments: Holloway Elementary, Chastang-Fournier (K-8), and Scarborough Middle (itinerant)
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed Speech-Language Pathologists in delivering speech and language interventions to K-5 students
- Implement individualized treatment plans under the supervision of an SLP
- Document student progress and maintain accurate records in compliance with regulatory requirements
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to support student needs
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the development of effective strategies for communication improvement
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the Board of Speech Examiners as an SLPA
- Experience working in school settings preferred, particularly with elementary-aged children
- Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams
- Knowledge of speech and language development as well as intervention techniques
- Ability to work independently while following established treatment plans
