School Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) | Mangum, Oklahoma
Step into a meaningful contract role as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant, contributing your expertise to the academic success and communication growth of students for the upcoming school year. In this position, you’ll support a manageable caseload—no more than 40 students—allowing you to make a genuine impact on each child’s individualized progress. You’ll collaborate closely with Speech-Language Pathologists, ensuring each student receives tailored, evidence-based interventions and support.
Key Qualifications and Experience:
- Active SLPA licensure or certification (or eligible to obtain before the school year).
- Background or experience in school-based speech services strongly preferred.
- Solid understanding of therapy techniques, data collection, and progress monitoring for children.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, emphasizing teamwork with SLPs, educators, and families.
- Motivated, adaptable, and passionate about supporting student communication and learning.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language services to assigned students under the supervision of certified SLPs.
- Implement therapy sessions as prescribed in students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Accurately document student progress, session notes, and data for ongoing evaluations.
- Engage in regular communication with SLP supervisors and school staff to refine therapy goals.
- Assist with preparation of therapy materials and participate in relevant team meetings.
- Foster a supportive and inclusive environment for students across the district.
