Speech Therapy Assistant in Chowchilla, CA
This role offers an opportunity to support the communication development of preschool and K-12 students through a dynamic, itinerant schedule across multiple locations. Responsibilities include:
- Providing Speech-Language Pathology Assistant support at 5-6 preschool sites each morning.
- Conducting home visits in the afternoons to support seven homebound preschool children.
- Facilitating evaluations and Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students.
- Collaborating closely with supervising Speech-Language Pathologists.
- Managing a flexible schedule that accommodates parent availability for homebound students.
- Maintaining detailed documentation and adherence to program guidelines.
Qualifications and experience:
- Previous experience working in school settings is preferred.
- Ability to travel between sites is essential; mileage reimbursement is available for those comfortable with commuting.
- Bilingual Spanish skills are highly desirable to effectively engage with diverse families.
- Must be supervised by a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist as per program requirements.
- Strong interpersonal skills and comfort with home-based services.
- Commitment to supporting developmental milestones in young children.
Location: Chowchilla, CA, with service sites across the region.
