A K-12 school in Joliet, IL is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join their team for a contracted school year position. This role offers the opportunity to support students' communication development under the supervision of licensed speech-language pathologists in an educational setting.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the implementation of speech and language therapy plans designed by speech-language pathologists
- Monitor and document student progress throughout the therapy process
- Collaborate with educators and therapists to support individualized student needs
- Maintain accurate and confidential records in compliance with school and regulatory standards
- Engage with students in verbal and non-verbal communication activities
Qualifications:
- Illinois SLPA license is required
- Bachelor’s level degree in a related field
- Previous experience working in schools is preferred but not mandatory
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
