A school-based Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available in a K-12 elementary school setting located in Houston, TX. This contract role spans the current school year (CSY) with an expected duration through May 29, 2026. The position involves providing therapy services under the supervision of an onsite Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP).
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services to students at the elementary school level.
- Collaborate closely with the supervising SLP to implement individualized treatment plans.
- Manage caseload effectively across assigned schools, including Garcia-Leza Primary, Caraway Elementary, and Stehlik Elementary.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services and student progress.
- Adhere to school policies and professional standards of practice.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Experience working as an SLPA, preferably in a school environment.
- Knowledge of speech and language therapy techniques suited for elementary-aged children.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Strong organizational skills to handle multiple caseloads efficiently.
- Availability to work onsite full-time (40 hours per week).
