Sunbelt Staffing is seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join a supportive district in the Hinsdale area for the remainder of the school year. This role is perfect for an SLPA who enjoys working closely with students in highly structured, collaborative classroom environments.
Role Summary
The SLPA will support 3–4 self-contained SLE classrooms, each designed for students with Autism and Intellectual Disabilities. Class sizes typically range from 6–8 students, allowing for meaningful, consistent interaction and communication support. You’ll work under the supervision of a licensed SLP while contributing to functional communication growth across school routines.
Key Duties

Deliver therapy activities as directed by the supervising SLP

Assist with implementing communication goals (expressive, receptive, social, and functional skills)

Collaborate with teachers, paraprofessionals, and related service providers to reinforce communication strategies

Gather data, track student progress, and maintain accurate documentation

Support the classroom team in embedding communication tools and visuals throughout the day
Qualifications

Active Illinois SLPA license

Previous experience with Autism or structured classroom programs is helpful, but not required

Strong teamwork, organization, and communication abilities

Comfort working in self-contained special education classrooms
