A dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is sought for a K-12 school located in Sunnyvale, CA, to support students from transitional kindergarten through middle school. This contract position provides an opportunity to work closely with a diverse caseload of 7 to 15 students, with a focus on small push-in classrooms such as science, PE, and articulation. The role requires AAC device experience and involves servicing students across two nearby school sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide direct speech-language support under the supervision of a licensed speech-language pathologist.
- Assist with assessments, therapy sessions, and documentation for students with diverse communication needs.
- Utilize AAC devices effectively to enhance student participation and communication.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support speech goals within the classroom environment.
- Maintain accurate records and contribute to progress reports.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) licensure for California.
- Experience working with school-aged children, TK through middle school.
- Familiarity with AAC devices and strategies.
- Ability to manage a caseload of 7 to 15 students.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Position Details:
- Contract duration from January 5th or mid-January start date, extending through ESY or renewable for the following school year.
- 15 to 30 hours per week, across 2 to 5 days.
- Work across two school sites located in close proximity.
