A Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed for an on-site contract position supporting PreK through 5th-grade students within a K-12 school setting in the Baltimore area. This opportunity involves providing speech and language support at two elementary schools, with a focus on early childhood and elementary-aged students to help enhance their communication skills and academic success.
Key Details:
- Position Type: Contract (2/16/2026 – 5/29/2026), with potential extension into the Extended School Year (ESY) in July 2026
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week
- Locations: Magnolia Elementary (3 days/week) and Prospect Mill Elementary (2 days/week)
- Student Population: PreK through 5th grade
- Professional Requirement: Active Maryland Professional Licensure as an SLPA
Responsibilities include:
- Collaborating with speech-language pathologists to implement treatment plans
- Delivering direct speech and language therapy to students with diverse communication needs
- Monitoring student progress and documenting therapy outcomes
- Supporting students within classroom and small group settings to enhance communication goals
- Maintaining compliance with school policies and state licensure requirements
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid Maryland SLPA license
- Experience working with elementary school-aged children, preferably grades PreK-5
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage caseload efficiently across two school sites
- Background in educational or pediatric speech-language pathology assistance preferred
