This opportunity is for a skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support students across early childhood, elementary, middle (grades 6-8), and high school (grades 9-12) levels in an educational setting. The role focuses on delivering targeted speech and language support to children from kindergarten through 12th grade, contributing to their communication development and academic success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing individualized treatment plans
- Work with students in a classroom and therapy environment, providing direct speech and language support
- Monitor and document student progress regularly
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to ensure cohesive care
- Maintain compliance with state and school policies regarding speech therapy services
Qualifications:
- Active state SLPA license is required and must be current
- Experience working with a diverse age group from early childhood through high school preferred
- Ability to effectively communicate with students of varying abilities and needs
- Strong organizational skills with attention to documentation and reporting
Details:
- Location: Carmel, NY
- Contract position starting ASAP through the end of the school year, with strong possibility of renewal
- 30 hours per week, 5 days per week
- Serves students aged K-12
