Blazer Jobs is seeking a dedicated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to join a school-based team in Fort Worth, Texas. About the Position
We are seeking a compassionate and motivated Speech-Language Pathology Assistant to provide speech and language support services under the direction and supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist. The ideal candidate will assist with therapy implementation, student progress monitoring, and documentation while supporting students across a variety of communication needs in a school-based setting.
Job Duties
- Assist the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist with implementation of individualized therapy plans
- Provide direct speech and language support services to students as directed by the supervising SLP
- Support students working on articulation, language development, fluency, social communication, and other communication goals
- Collect data and document student progress during therapy sessions
- Assist with preparation of therapy materials and activities
- Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, administrators, and families as appropriate
- Support implementation of Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals under the direction of the supervising SLP
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow school district procedures
- Provide services in accordance with state regulations, district policies, and the supervising SLP’s plan of care
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher with an emphasis in speech-language pathology and/or communication sciences and disorders
- Valid Texas Speech-Language Pathology Assistant license through the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR), or eligibility to obtain licensure
- Completion of required educational coursework in speech-language pathology/audiology as required by TDLR
- Completion of required clinical observation and clinical assisting experience requirements
- Must work under the supervision of a Texas licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Knowledge of speech and language development, therapy techniques, and school-based service delivery
- Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills
- Ability to work effectively with students, educators, and related service providers
- Successful completion of required background screening and district onboarding requirements
