School Speech & Language Pathology Assistant | Carmel, Indiana
A K-12 school in Carmel, IN is seeking a full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) for a contract position lasting through the end of the current school year. This role supports students across various grade levels by assisting certified speech-language pathologists in delivering effective, individualized communication therapy services.
Responsibilities:
- Assist licensed speech-language pathologists in implementing treatment plans for students with speech, language, and communication disorders.
- Support small group and individual therapy sessions across multiple school sites.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining accurate and confidential records.
- Collaborate with educators and support staff to integrate speech and language goals within the classroom setting.
- Prepare materials and resources necessary for therapy activities.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to the continuous improvement of speech-language services.
- Travel between multiple schools, including Robert Lee Frost #106, Sankofa #99, Lew Wallace #107, and Coldspring, to provide services as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant within a school setting preferred.
- Understanding of speech and language development and communication disorders.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students of diverse backgrounds and abilities.
- Ability to follow detailed treatment plans and document student progress accurately.
- Commitment to professional ethics and confidentiality.
