School Speech Therapy Assistant | Fairhope, Alabama
A full-time Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available to support K-5 students across multiple schools in the Mobile, AL area. This contract role, lasting through the current school year ending in May 2026, offers the opportunity to work onsite within an established public school district. The position primarily involves itinerant support at three schools, focusing on delivering speech and language services to elementary-aged children.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide therapeutic support and intervention for students experiencing speech and language challenges in grades K-5
- Implement individualized treatment plans developed in collaboration with licensed speech-language pathologists
- Document student progress and assist in maintaining accurate records in accordance with school policies
- Collaborate with educators, caregivers, and therapists to promote student communication development
- Travel between assigned schools (Holloway Elementary, Chastang-Fournier K-8, and Scarborough Middle) to deliver consistent services
Qualifications:
- Current registration with the Board of Speech Examiners as an SLPA is required
- Experience working with school-aged children in a speech-language therapy setting preferred
- Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach are essential
- Understanding of relevant state licensing requirements and educational regulations
Location: Mobile, AL (On-site at multiple school locations)
Schedule: Full-time, approximately 35 hours per week
Contract Duration: Immediate start through May 22, 2026
