Location: Washington DC Area (approximately 45 minutes south of downtown DC)
Position Details:
- Schedule: Monday through Friday, 37.5 hours per week (full-time); part-time options available
- Assignment may vary by school within the district
- Support provided primarily for school-aged children K-12
- Role involves stepping in to assist following a vacancy created by a Speech-Language Pathologist departure
- This district has not previously utilized SLPAs, so flexibility and adaptability in deployment are key
Qualifications:
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech Communication Disorders required
- Registration with the state Speech Board through a supervising SLP (Virginia does not license SLPAs)
- No prior experience with the district necessary; all experience levels considered
- Must be available to work onsite; remote or hybrid arrangements are not permitted
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language support services under the direction of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support individualized student goals
- Assist in documentation and progress monitoring
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to school policies and professional standards
