School-Based Speech Pathology Assistant | Escondido, California
A Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) position is available in Escondido, CA, supporting K-12 students across two schools. This contract role is set to begin immediately and will continue through June 5, 2026. The position involves a split assignment between two sites: an elementary school and a middle school, both serving students with moderate to severe autism caseloads, as well as Resource Specialist Program (RSP) and Special Day Class (SDC) settings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language therapy services under the supervision of experienced Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs)
- Support students with a range of communication needs, including those with moderate to severe autism
- Collaborate with site staff to implement therapy plans
- Maintain accurate documentation of student progress and therapy sessions
- Participate in team meetings and coordinate with multidisciplinary teams
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Relevant certification or credentials as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant
- Experience working in K-12 educational settings
- Ability to manage caseloads involving moderate to severe autism and other special education programs
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Willingness to work collaboratively with experienced SLPs and school staff
Work Schedule and Location:
- 32.5 hours per week, including a 30-minute unpaid lunch
- Split assignment between two sites in Escondido, CA
- Immediate start, with contract ending June 5, 2026
