This role offers an opportunity to provide essential support as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) within a dynamic K-12 educational environment. The position is a contract role spanning the current school year, with a schedule of 37.5 hours per week. You'll serve students from PreK through 12th grade, managing a caseload of 35 to 45 students across three schools located on one campus, plus one private school.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting speech-language pathologists in implementing therapy plans designed to improve communication skills.
- Supporting students across a diverse range of grades and needs in both public and private school settings.
- Maintaining detailed documentation and progress reports for each student.
- Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and parents to ensure continuity of care.
- Managing a caseload that includes readiness to adjust to the needs of multiple school environments.
Ideal qualifications and experience:
- Certification or eligibility as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant.
- Experience working within school settings, preferably with a K-12 student population.
- Comfort managing a sizable caseload while maintaining high-quality student support.
- Strong interpersonal skills to effectively communicate with educators, families, and clinical staff.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a multi-school campus environment.
Location and Schedule:
- Position located approximately 20 minutes south of Petersburg, VA, and 45 minutes south of Richmond, VA.
- Contract runs ASAP through May 29, 2026.
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week during the school year.
