This opportunity is for a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to provide support within a K-12 educational setting primarily serving preschool and homebound children. The position involves an itinerant schedule covering multiple preschool sites in the mornings, followed by afternoon home visits, as well as participating in evaluations and Individualized Education Program (IEP) facilitation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language support across 5-6 preschool sites during morning hours.
- Conduct home visits in the afternoons to deliver direct services to homebound preschool children.
- Facilitate speech and language evaluations and assist with IEP meetings.
- Collaborate closely with the supervising Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Navigate scheduling with flexibility to meet family needs, especially for homebound students.
Preferred Qualifications and Experience:
- Prior experience working as an SLPA in school settings, preferably K-12 or early childhood education.
- Ability to manage itinerant caseload with strong organizational skills.
- Bilingual Spanish-language skills are highly desired to support diverse student populations.
- Comfort with conducting home visits and working with homebound students.
- Willingness to travel between multiple sites; mileage reimbursement available for commuting.
Location and Schedule:
- Position located in Clovis, CA, covering preschool sites within a school district setting.
- Contract runs through the current school year (CSY).
- Itinerant mornings with home visits in the afternoons.
