A skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) is needed to provide therapy services within a K-12 school setting located in Gresham, OR. This contract position is scheduled for the current school year and offers an opportunity to support students across multiple schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language therapy services under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist according to individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Collaborate with school staff to implement therapy strategies in classroom and individual settings.
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports aligned with district and state requirements.
- Participate in team meetings and professional development activities as needed.
- Provide services consistent with the district’s therapy caseload or workload model.
Desired Qualifications:
- Valid SLPA certification or equivalent licensure in Oregon.
- Experience working with K-12 students in educational or healthcare settings.
- Familiarity with IEP systems and educational documentation procedures.
- Ability to manage itinerant caseload with possible paid travel between schools.
- Strong communication skills for collaboration with educators, therapists, and families.
- Completion of fingerprinting and other background clearance requirements prior to start.
Additional Position Details:
- This is a contract role for the current school year with a flexible schedule based on assigned hours.
- The district uses a caseload model and provides designated therapy spaces.
- Training on district IEP software and procedures is provided.
- Indirect hours, such as administrative tasks and team meetings, are included and compensated.
- Both supervision and support from district therapists are available where applicable.
