Job Title: Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA)

Employment Type: Contract (Full-Time)
Hourly Pay: $44–$49/hour (based on experience and qualifications)
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) to support speech and language services in a K–12 school setting in Chicago, IL, for the 2025–2026 academic year. Under the supervision of a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP), the SLPA will assist in the implementation of individualized therapy plans, track student progress, and support communication development for students with a variety of speech and language needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide speech and language services to students as directed by the supervising SLP

Implement documented treatment plans or protocols developed by the supervising SLP
-
Assist with speech-language screenings and data collection under supervision
-
Prepare therapy materials and maintain equipment used during speech-language sessions
-
Document student progress and maintain records in accordance with school and district policies
-
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and other support staff to ensure continuity of services
-
Communicate effectively with students, staff, and families while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality

Assist in creating a positive, inclusive environment that supports the communication needs of diverse learners

Participate in professional development and training as required by the district or licensing board
Qualifications:

Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Sciences and Disorders

Valid Illinois licensure or certification as a Speech-Language Pathology Assistant

Experience working in school-based or pediatric settings preferred
-
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
-
Commitment to supporting student growth and collaboration within the school team

Ability to follow supervision and work independently within established guidelines
