Speech Therapy Assistant in Glen Burnie, MD
This position is for a Speech Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA) servicing elementary school students from PreK to 5th grade. The role requires working on-site across two schools located in the Baltimore, MD area: Magnolia Elementary and Prospect Mill Elementary. The assignment is a Contract role running from February 16, 2026, through May 29, 2026, with a potential extension into Extended School Year (ESY) services during July 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech and language support and therapy to elementary-aged students within the assigned schools.
- Collaborate with educators and therapists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
- Maintain accurate documentation and progress reports as required.
- Adhere to school district policies, including compliance with House Bill 486, which mandates background checks and employment history review.
Qualifications:
- Active Maryland professional licensure as a Speech Language Pathology Assistant.
- Ability to pass district-required background checks and credentialing.
- Experience working with children in the PreK to 5th grade age range preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration within the school environment.
Schedule and Location:
- Full-time, 37.5 hours per week.
- Magnolia Elementary: 3 days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday).
- Prospect Mill Elementary: 2 days per week (Monday, Wednesday).
- Both schools are located in Baltimore, MD area (Joppatowne, MD and Bel Air, MD).
