Key Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology or Communication Disorders
- Valid state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist for the state of Michigan (or eligibility for licensure)
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) required
- Proven experience in a school setting, supporting diverse caseloads of children and adolescents
- Strong communication, organizational, and documentation skills
- Ability to develop and implement individualized therapy plans and collaborate effectively with educators, families, and other support professionals
Responsibilities:
- Conduct assessments, screenings, and evaluations to identify students’ speech and language needs
- Design and implement evidence-based intervention plans tailored to each student’s IEP or 504 plan
- Monitor progress, maintain accurate records, and document student outcomes
- Consult regularly with classroom teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to support students’ academic and social development
- Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to the overall success of the student services department
- Foster a nurturing and inclusive atmosphere that promotes student growth
