Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - Taylor, MI
A Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is sought for a full-time, contract position serving a K-12 day center specializing in severe cognitive impairment (SCI) within a school setting in Taylor, MI. This role involves providing onsite therapy services to a diverse student population using augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology (AT) devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language assessments and develop individualized treatment plans for students with severe cognitive impairments.
- Implement therapy services in compliance with educational standards and MI caseload regulations, with a maximum caseload of up to 60 students.
- Collaborate with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to support student communication and academic success.
- Utilize AAC and AT devices effectively to enhance student engagement and communication.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation in accordance with district and state guidelines.
Qualifications:
- Valid Michigan Licenses in Speech-Language Pathology and ASHA Certification (CCC) required; SLP-CF and SLPA candidates are not eligible.
- Experience working with K-12 students, particularly those with severe cognitive impairments, is preferred.
- Knowledge and practical use of AAC and AT devices in a school environment.
- Ability to work onsite full-time during the school year (contract ends 5/22/2026).
