School Speech Language Pathologist - Windsor, Connecticut

An opening Full-Time contract opportunity is available for an experienced Speech-Language Pathologist to serve an elementary school setting in Windsor, CT from December through March, with the possibility of extension. This role is in-person only and supports school hours from 8:20 AM to 3:40 PM, providing 40 hours per week of impactful speech and language services within a dynamic educational team.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Conducting thorough speech, language, and communication evaluations using standardized and informal tools.
- Participating in multidisciplinary Planning and Placement Team (PPT) evaluations to determine special education eligibility under IDEA.
- Developing and implementing Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals tailored to diverse student needs.
- Delivering direct and indirect therapy focused on articulation, phonology, receptive and expressive language, social communication, fluency, voice, and augmentative and alternative communication (AAC).
- Maintaining accurate documentation of services, progress reports, and compliance with IDEA and Section 504.
- Collaborating with educators, counselors, occupational and physical therapists, psychologists, and families to provide integrated communication supports.
- Providing early intervention, including Birth-to-3 transitions and RTI/MTSS speech-language support, promoting prevention before special education referrals.
- Staying current with Connecticut Department of Education (CSDE), Department of Public Health (DPH) licensure requirements, and ASHA standards.
- Participating actively in IEP meetings, annual reviews, reevaluations, and professional development activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Valid SLP License under Connecticut Department of Public Health.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA.
- Completion of Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).
- Experience in school-based speech-language pathology preferred.
- Strong knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, and special education regulations.
