School Speech Language Pathologist - Whittier, CA
Step into a meaningful role supporting students across the LA area as a full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) for the upcoming school year. This contract opportunity spans from August 11, 2026, through June 4, 2027, offering you the chance to partner directly with school teams in diverse, dynamic environments. Your workday will be spent entirely on site, engaging with students and educators during regular school hours, 7:30am to 4:00pm, Monday through Friday.
You can expect to provide services at one to four school sites within a 20-mile or one-hour commute cap. Each SLP will manage a caseload of approximately 55-60 students, with all assessment material expenses reimbursed. The focus is solely on delivering high-quality speech and language interventions—case management responsibilities are handled separately by dedicated staff at each school.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology
- Active California SLP license
- Current CTC credential (preliminary, clear SLP credential, or Certificate of Clearance)
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CF) considered if supervision is arranged
- Public school experience is desirable
- Comfortable working with Pre-K through 12th grade students
- Must be available for full-time, on-site work; part-time availability cannot be accommodated
Responsibilities:
- Conduct speech and language assessments and interventions
- Collaborate with educational staff and families
- Travel between assigned schools within district commute limits
- Maintain thorough documentation
- Participate in IEP meetings and multidisciplinary team discussions as appropriate
