School-Based SLP | Herkimer, New York
A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available for the upcoming school year in a K-12 educational setting located in Herkimer, NY. This contract position serves a caseload that includes students with behavioral needs primarily in middle and high school grades. Most students are verbal with limited use of AAC devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide speech-language therapy services across K-12 grade levels.
- Address diverse communication needs focusing on students with behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student progress.
- Maintain compliance with state and federal educational standards.
- Participate in assessments, progress monitoring, and individualized education programs (IEPs).
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.
- Valid Pennsylvania state licensure for SLP.
- Pennsylvania Teaching Certification in Speech (PPID).
- ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience working with K-12 students, especially in behavioral contexts.
- Ability to deliver therapy to mostly verbal students with limited AAC use.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
