Speech and Language Pathologist - Taylor, MI
An opportunity is available for a skilled Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to support a K-12 day center serving students with Severe Cognitive Impairment (SCI) in the Taylor, MI area. This is a full-time, onsite contract position lasting through the current school year, with an anticipated end date in May 2026. The role requires expertise in augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) and assistive technology (AT) devices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized speech-language therapy to students with severe cognitive challenges, utilizing AAC and AT tools.
- Develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to each student's unique communication needs.
- Collaborate with educational staff, families, and interdisciplinary teams to support student progress.
- Maintain compliance with state caseload limits, with a maximum of 60 students.
- Document therapy sessions and progress in accordance with state and district regulations.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to program development.
Qualifications:
- Valid Speech-Language Pathology license.
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA strongly preferred.
- Previous experience working with SCI populations and K-12 school settings.
- Proficient in the use of AAC and assistive technology devices.
- Able to work onsite full-time, with no remote work options.
- Must not be a Clinical Fellow (SLP-CF) or Speech-Language Pathology Assistant (SLPA).
