Pediatric School Speech Language Pathologist - Hilliard, Ohio

A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist is needed to support middle and high school students in a K-12 educational setting located in Columbus, Ohio. This contract position runs from December 1, 2024, through May 29, 2025, covering the current school year. The caseload includes approximately 35 students, half of whom have intellectual disabilities and the other half requiring language support. Notably, no students on this caseload require traditional speech therapy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive evaluations and develop Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Provide both direct and indirect speech-language services tailored to student needs.
- Collaborate with school staff and families to support student progress.
- Manage caseload focused primarily on language and communication, including work with students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
- Maintain thorough documentation and compliance with state and federal regulations.
Qualifications:
- Valid Ohio Speech-Language Pathologist license is required.
- Professional Pupil Service License preferred; emergency certification is available with superintendent approval.
- Experience working in school settings with K-12 students, especially those with intellectual disabilities and language impairments.
- Ability or strong willingness to learn American Sign Language (ASL) preferred, as approximately half of the caseload involves deaf or hard of hearing students.
- Candidates should be prepared to start quickly and engage in a fast interview and decision-making process.
Work Schedule:
- Full-time hours following the academic calendar.
- Winter break from December 20 to January 5.
- Spring break during the last week of March.
