Position Overview:

Waterville Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and passionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join our Student Services team for the 2025–2026 school year. This is a full-time, school-based position working with students in grades PreK through 8, providing direct speech and language therapy services, evaluations, and support to help students thrive academically and socially.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct speech, language, and communication evaluations for students referred through the special education process

  • Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) in collaboration with IEP teams

  • Provide direct therapy services in both individual and small-group settings

  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, special educators, and parents to support students’ communication needs

  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in compliance with state and federal regulations

  • Participate in IEP meetings, professional development, and team collaboration sessions


Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program

  • Maine Department of Education certification (Speech & Language Clinician 293 or 034 Endorsement) or eligibility to obtain

  • ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) preferred

  • Clinical Fellows (CFs) welcome to apply — supervision provided

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills

  • Experience working in a school setting preferred, but not required
