About the Opportunity:
We are seeking passionate and dedicated Speech-Language Pathologists (SLPs) to join our team for the upcoming 2025-2026 school year in the vibrant city of Detroit, Michigan. We have opportunities for both full-time and part-time SLPs to provide essential speech and language services to students within our diverse school district. You will play a vital role in fostering communication skills and supporting the academic success of our students.
Responsibilities May Include:
- Conducting comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students across various grade levels (PreK-12, specific caseload may vary).
- Developing and implementing individualized education programs (IEPs) and therapy plans to address a wide range of communication disorders, including articulation, phonology, language (receptive and expressive), fluency, voice, and social communication.
- Providing direct and indirect therapy services to students based on their individual needs and IEP goals.
- Collaborating effectively with teachers, parents, school psychologists, social workers, and other educational team members.
- Maintaining accurate and timely documentation of evaluations, treatment plans, progress notes, and other required reports.
- Participating in IEP meetings and contributing valuable SLP perspectives.
- Adapting therapy activities and strategies to suit the diverse needs and learning styles of our students.
- Staying current with best practices in school-based speech-language pathology.
- Potential for supervision of Speech-Language Pathology Assistants (SLPAs) or Clinical Fellows (CFYs), depending on experience and district needs.
Qualifications:
- Must possess a valid Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) license in the state of Michigan.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred, but strong Clinical Fellows (CFY) will also be considered.
- Experience working in a school setting is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of IEP processes and implementation.
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Passion for working with students from diverse backgrounds and with varying communication needs.
