Local Candidates (Hourly Pay): $45-$51
Travel Candidates (Weekly Take-Home Pay): $1643-$1793

Speech-Language Pathologist Job Duties

Evaluate students’ speech, language, and communication abilities

Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) related to communication goals

Provide direct therapy services in individual and group settings

Collaborate with teachers, parents, and school staff to support student progress

Adapt and modify strategies to promote student success in academic and social environments

Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal guidelines
-
Participate in IEP meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary team planning

Provide education and training to staff and families regarding communication strategies
Federal and State Requirements
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
-
Current and active Virginia state license or eligibility for licensure

Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) may be considered
-
Knowledge of IDEA, Section 504, FERPA, and other applicable education laws

Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills

Fingerprinting and background clearance as required by Virginia school districts
