A full-time Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) position is available in Vallejo, CA, serving students in a K-12 school setting. This contract role offers an exciting opportunity to work with students from Kindergarten through Middle School, focusing on those with extensive special needs. The position requires specialized experience and expertise in Augmentative and Alternative Communication/Assistive Technology (AAC/AT), supporting communication development in three classrooms across two different school sites.
This assignment begins with compensatory time at the start of the school year. After completing this initial period, the workload will transition to 2.5 days per week, offering flexibility while maintaining a meaningful impact on student progress.
Key Qualifications:
- Current certification as a Speech-Language Pathologist with a Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred
- Proven experience working with students who have complex communication needs, including expertise in AAC/AT
- Ability to effectively collaborate with multidisciplinary educational teams and families
- Experience supporting students from early childhood through middle school
- Commitment to delivering high-quality, individualized speech and language services within the school setting
Responsibilities include conducting speech and language assessments, creating individualized education plans (IEPs), implementing therapy sessions tailored to each student’s communication needs, and utilizing AAC and AT tools. The role demands flexibility to serve multiple classrooms and sites, requiring excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
