Pediatric School-Based Speech-Language Pathologist - Newark, New Jersey

A professional Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) is needed to provide specialized support within a K-12 educational setting located in Newark, NJ. This contract position offers an exciting opportunity to work with students across multiple grade levels, from Pre-K through middle school, with potential extensions into summer and the following academic year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services to students from Pre-K through grade 8, focusing initially on early childhood and elementary levels before transitioning to intermediate grades (5-8).
- Conduct assessments, develop individualized treatment plans, and implement evidence-based interventions tailored to students' needs.
- Collaborate with educators, parents, and healthcare providers to support student progress.
- Monitor and document student progress, maintaining compliance with state and district guidelines.
- Option to participate in Extended School Year (ESY) services.
Qualifications:
- Certification in Speech-Language Pathology, including eligibility or status as a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidate or certified (CCC-SLP).
- Experience working in school settings, particularly with pediatric populations.
- Knowledge of educational therapy practices and ability to engage K-12 students effectively.
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate within an educational team.
- Authorized to work in Newark, NJ area.
Employment Details:
- Immediate start date available.
- Initial assignment in Pre-K through mid-March.
- Transition to intermediate school grades (5-8) from mid-March through June.
- Option to work during ESY period.
- Resumption of duties from September through mid-October.
- Contract position for the current school year.
