Virtual Speech Language Pathologist (SLP) - South Dakota (School-Based)
Position Purpose
To provide specialized speech and language services to students in grades K–12. The Speech-Language Pathologist will assess, diagnose, and treat communication disorders; develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs); and collaborate with educators, families, and administrators to support student success. Services are delivered virtually in compliance with state and federal special education requirements.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver scheduled speech and language therapy sessions to assigned students in accordance with IEP goals.

Conduct speech, language, and hearing screenings; share results with administrators, teachers, and families.

Complete evaluations and assessments for students referred for speech and language services.

Develop and implement individualized plans of service tailored to each student’s strengths and needs.

Prepare instructional materials, therapy resources, and data collection tools to support student progress.

Participate in IEP team meetings to contribute to eligibility, goal-setting, and service planning.

Maintain accurate student records, including progress notes, work samples, and data for compliance reporting.

Collaborate with teachers, related service providers, and administrators to support general education access and success.

Provide consultation and training to staff and families regarding communication strategies.

Submit reports and documentation as required by the district and state guidelines.

Perform other related duties as assigned by supervisors.
Minimum Qualifications

Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology.

Current South Dakota Speech-Language Pathology license (or eligibility).

Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) preferred; Clinical Fellows (CFs) may be considered.

South Dakota teaching certificate (or eligibility) where required.

Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.

Experience in school-based or pediatric settings preferred; teletherapy experience a plus.
