Remote Speech-Language Pathologist South Dakota (School-Based)
Job Summary
We’re seeking a licensed and enthusiastic Remote Speech-Language Teletherapist to deliver virtual therapy services to K–12 students in South Dakota. In this remote role, you’ll provide tailored speech and language support, collaborate with educators and families, and help students improve their communication skills to succeed in school and beyond.
The right candidate will have teletherapy experience, understand South Dakota’s education policies, and be dedicated to promoting inclusive learning through remote services.
What You’ll Do

Provide speech and language therapy sessions remotely to students with diverse communication needs.

Conduct virtual assessments and screenings to identify student strengths and challenges.

Create and carry out individualized treatment plans based on IEP goals.

Work closely with teachers, parents, and school staff to support students across different environments.

Keep accurate records of therapy sessions and progress in compliance with South Dakota DOE guidelines.

Join IEP meetings to share insights and recommendations for student support.

Use evidence-based teletherapy approaches and technology to engage students effectively online.

Stay updated on best practices in telepractice and South Dakota educational regulations.
What We’re Looking For
Education & Licensure
-
Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.

Valid South Dakota Speech-Language Pathology license or eligibility to obtain one.

ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) preferred.

Familiarity with South Dakota Department of Education special education and telepractice standards.
Experience & Skills
-
Experience providing speech-language therapy to school-aged children.

Prior experience with teletherapy is preferred, including use of platforms like Zoom or Google Meet.

Strong skills in assessment, individualized planning, and documentation.

Excellent communication and teamwork skills for remote collaboration.

Ability to adapt therapy techniques for virtual delivery tailored to individual student needs.
Preferred Qualifications

Bilingual abilities (such as English/Spanish) are a plus.

Knowledge of augmentative and alternative communication (AAC) tools and assistive technology.

Experience working with diverse student populations.

Training in culturally responsive and inclusive therapy practices.
