Pediatric Telehealth School-Based Speech Therapy | Virginia
A K-12 school in Blacksburg, VA is seeking a licensed Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to provide comprehensive teletherapy and in-school speech services. This contract position will cover an elementary school caseload for the duration of the current school year, filling in for a medical leave.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver speech-language pathology services to students in grades K-12, with a primary focus on elementary caseload
- Conduct teletherapy sessions to support remote learners as part of a hybrid service model
- Develop, implement, and update individualized education plans (IEPs) and treatment goals
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary teams to monitor student progress and adjust therapy plans
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation compliant with school and state requirements
Qualifications:
- Valid Virginia license to practice as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC) from ASHA strongly preferred
- Experience working in pediatric school settings with teletherapy and in-person services
- Familiarity with K-12 educational environments and federal/state special education regulations
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective stakeholder collaboration
