Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and flexible Special Education Teacher (RSP) to support high school students and a small group of K–12 students in an independent study program in Madera, CA. This is a full-time position beginning November 17. The role involves a high school caseload of approximately 54 students and 5–10 students in the independent study program, who receive 1 hour of resource support per day.
The ideal candidate will have strong case management skills, experience with SEIS, and the ability to adapt to a fluid and at times disorganized special education workflow. This is a unique opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, evolving environment and is confident managing referrals, assessments, and compliance amidst changing priorities.
Key Responsibilities:

Provide resource support and instruction to students in both traditional and independent study settings

Manage and implement IEPs, including development, meetings, and documentation

Conduct assessments and respond to a high volume of referrals

Collaborate with general education teachers, school staff, and families

Maintain accurate records in SEIS and ensure compliance with state and district timelines

Problem-solve and adapt to shifting workflows within the special education team
Qualifications:

Valid California Education Specialist Credential (Mild/Moderate or Mild to Moderate Support Needs)

Proficiency with SEIS (Special Education Information System)

Experience working with high school students; K–12 exposure preferred

Strong organizational skills and ability to manage a large, diverse caseload

Resilience, adaptability, and the ability to work independently under pressure
