Position Overview:

Key Responsibilities:
- Virtual Therapy: Conduct individual and group speech therapy sessions remotely, using secure telehealth platforms to ensure all students receive effective support.
- Comprehensive Assessments: Perform speech and language assessments and screenings, evaluate student progress, and identify students who may need additional interventions.
- IEP Development & Implementation: Collaborate with teachers, parents, and the school team to develop, implement, and monitor Individualized Education Plans (IEPs) for students with speech and language needs.
- Progress Monitoring & Reporting: Document student progress, maintain records, and prepare regular reports for IEP meetings and parent conferences.
- Collaboration & Consultation: Partner with school staff to provide strategies and resources that support students’ speech and language goals within the classroom setting.
- Continued Professional Growth: Stay up-to-date on the latest trends and best practices in speech therapy and telepractice, and participate in district professional development opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
- Licensing: Active Speech-Language Pathologist license in Rhode Island.
- Certification: ASHA Certification (CCC-SLP) preferred.
- Experience: Previous experience providing speech therapy services in an elementary school setting, particularly in a virtual environment, is highly preferred.
- Knowledge & Skills:
- Strong understanding of IEP development, special education laws, and speech/language development in children.
- Ability to effectively use telehealth platforms and technology to deliver remote therapy.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across multiple teams.
- Organized and self-motivated, with the ability to manage a caseload and prioritize tasks remotely.
